A selfie is not anymore just a selfie now. AI has already changed this common action, making it a helpful tool for predicting health risks. This is possible thanks to an App: doc.ai is a platform that empowers the user in the health journey, collecting data which can reveal important and precise outputs regarding health state and longevity.
This startup is based on the interaction between mobile networks, blockchain and, particularly, AI; it believes in a future where citizens have the real possibility to make a significant impact in the healthcare system. Over 25,000 users have provided access to health information so far.
The medical selfie, after the picture, release physical characteristics information (in only about 23 milliseconds) such as: age, weight, height and body mass index (BMI); it is also included the likelihood of experiencing conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
One of the interesting features promoted by the app is helping enroll patients in clinical trials that best suit them. Last August it was launched a data trial, “Can AI predict your risk of allergies?”: in only three weeks over 2000 patients has enrolled in. A significant improvement considering the general timing.
We stay tuned if this new mechanism will make a deep impact in the $62 billion drug development industry.
